Russ grew up playing hockey at the Rep level as a Stouffville Clipper and eventually won an “All Ontario Championship” in his major midget year in 1986. His interest in representing hockey players began after he was hired by the (former) Scarborough Fire department. The first Captain he was assigned to was Harry Francis who at the time was Nick Kypreos’ agent. After listening to Harry and seeing what he was doing with Nick his interest grew. Knowing that education is important Russ continued his over the years. Receiving his “Leadership Certificate” in 1999 from Dalhousie University and completing a Sports Management World Wide agent course a few years after that.

Kingdom Player Management Incorporated formed after Russ had some business dealings with the former owner of the Toronto Rock who is also the son of a former player agent and assistant GM of an NHL team. With their guidance and advice Russ realized how important personalized service under a team frame work was so all the client’s needs are looked after. Russ has his Professional Hockey Players Association (PHPA) certification and has extensive knowledge of the existing league collective agreements, this way the player’s contract rights are looked after correctly. Every client is important whether playing “A” hockey or in the NHL and all clients receive the same dedicated hard work when dealing with their careers.  With a motto of always be a leader and never burn a bridge, Russ realizes that something can be learned from everyone. Russ is married with two boys and when not looking after his players needs spends the remainder of his time in the winter looking after their backyard rink.
